FOMO STOPPER
Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-29
FOMO Stopper is a Chrome extension by Investor Cognition Lab. It pauses your order clicks on TradingView and asks three questions before the order goes through.
The short version
FOMO Stopper does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. Everything it records stays on your own computer.
What the extension stores, and where
When the extension pauses an order, it saves one entry to chrome.storage.local in your browser:
- the time of the pause
- the emotion you selected
- your Yes/No answer to "Would I still take this trade 10 minutes from now?"
- the text you typed for "What would prove me wrong?"
- whether you placed or cancelled the order
It also stores two settings (extension on/off and countdown on/off).
This data never leaves your browser. There is no server, account, analytics, or telemetry. The extension's code contains no network requests. Uninstalling the extension deletes the data, and "Reset all data" in the popup deletes it at any time.
What the extension never reads
FOMO Stopper runs only on tradingview.com. It never reads your account balance, positions, orders, watchlists, or any other page content. The only thing it inspects is the button you click, to decide whether that click was an order button.
Links
The pause screen contains links to the Investor Cognition Lab YouTube channel. They open in a new tab only if you click them, and they carry no data from the extension. YouTube's own privacy policy applies once you are on YouTube.
"Share my stats" draws an image on your computer and downloads it. Nothing is uploaded or posted.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this same address with a new "Last updated" date.
